Hi,

I am heading to Aspen, Colorado this week and I want to bring my tripod for some Maroon Bells mornings. Anybody know what the latest is on bringing tripods on planes. It's a Gitzo CF so I dont want to send it through luggage.

Any thoughts?

Why dont you ask your airplane agency,
they should be able to tell you if its allowed
or not. If you have to checkin your tripod
make sure its protected against direct hits
(put in box inside duffle bag, wrap with clothers
or sth) and make sure you have a baggage
insurance in case there is a loss.

More than likely, you will need to check it.

Best to avoid the question all together and put it in your checked
    baggage.
