How many photographers does it take to change a light bulb? 50. One to change the bulb, and forty-nine to say, "I could have done that better!"

My, Harry. What a big URL you have there. Lotsa 0's, too.

I'd say that looks like overkill, but you should see me try to clean my sensor. Takes me forever. I did it yesterday, and it musta taken me 15 tries. Definitely a weak spot for me. The arctic butterfly looks interesting. Might knock my number down to 12 or 13! :D

I like the marketing gimmick that is the Sensor Scope. Why use what you have to determine whether nor not your sensor is dirty... when you can buy a new gadet!

I know, that's why it appeals to me. I love gadgets. Just can't afford 'em.

I'm sticking to the Artic Butterfly myself. I really don't see the need for a scope. Heck the sensor swab is about the size of the sensor, I don't need to know the exact location of the spots.

The price of the kit with the scope is $189.00

Its nice to have if you operate a professional shop and your customers like seeing gadgets in your arsenal to make themselves feel better about giving you their cameras. Plus, I'm sure you can use that scope thing for other uses. I cant think of anything right now, but gadgets are gadgets, theres always other uses for them lol

In one and a half year of DSLR shooting, with tons of lens changes, even in the African savannah, I've not once needed to clean my sensor. Seeing stuff like this makes me want to kiss the developer that decided my camera should have a dust filter built in on both cheeks. bowdown.gif I think it's a good thing most companies are getting in a stage where dustbusters are built into cameras. Although there's one less thing you'd need an extra gadget for...

    New player in sensor cleaning
    Sensor Scope from Delkin

    http://www.delkin.com/products/sensorscope/

Finally looks like a product worth its relatively high price

    (Note: I'm not affiliated, blah-blah-blah :D )

I like the idea of the powerful scope combined with the bright light.
I also like the idea of powerful vacuum-like device (esp battery powered) with a soft tip.

And this is way better than paying hundred bucks or more for the glorified brush on steroids...

In the mean time I'm still using my little rocket blower and eclips swabs. They are OK, but not perfect.

I also hope they would have a sale, or somebody in Taiwan would start producing simlar devices for 1/10th of the price...:-)

What makes you say that? That scope thing just looks stupid to me. Have you tried one? Seen one in person? Or are you just speculating?

I personally have seen no need, none to use fluid on my sensors yet. And if it ain't broke, I ain't fixin' it!

edit: seems you may have answered my question as I typed it.....esp?

    Another Option
Have any of you seen this http://www.photosol.com/brushproduct.htm ?

Called the Brush Off, it's a grounded brush that suppostedly removes the static charge that makes the dust cling to the sensor. All for the low price of $58. Well, then there's cleaning fluid in case you get it cruded up . . .

But I've been thinking of getting one - haven't seen anything that looks better.

    Cheers!
