No rain today. :clap

But I had to play hooky to get some outside shots for Humungus. Yes, hummer...we have an outside here. I was really glad to see that it hadn't all washed away.

Please join me as I take you for a little stroll through my outside.

We'll start our tour with a wheel done in camera with Sepia (b/w parameter, yellow filter).

The suspension and traction on this thing is terrble, but it did a pretty good job of tilling the soil in its time.

13684543-L.jpg

My favorite bridge, built in 1924, the year my father was born. Clearly, someone felt the need to attach some barbwire to it to keep it from floating away down the creek to the Guadalupe River.

13668838-L.jpg

One really nice thing about all the rain we've been getting is that everything is growing, including the redwood fences...

13684544-L.jpg

...and the rocks.

13682175-L.jpg

And that concludes our brief tour of my outside. Please climb back in the tour bug and securely fasten your seat belts for the ride back home.

hey humungus...

Thanks greaper. It took about 100x longer than it should have, because it seems I had the wrong color profile embedded into my images by Capture One (adobe 1998 vs sRGB), which required reprocessing most of the RAWs six or eight times and uploading a bunch of them to smuggy to get it right. 11doh.gif

Thanks the onethumb for setting me straight.

Lesson learned: sRGB in camera. sRGB in Capure One. sRGB in Photoshop.

I think you're right. What I don't understand is why the wheels seem to be pointing in the wrong (90 degrees off) direction. On the far left (can't be seen from this angle) are toothed disks that look like tillers. I had a shot of them, but it's gone now. I guess I'll have to go back and see if I can get a couple more complete shots so you farmboys can teach this city slicker about hay rakes.

If I remeber right there is a bar with detent holes so you can make it swing out and rake at an angle. It has been a long time.

I love the pics but am more confused then ever sure looks like a cross between a rake and a manure spreader.

edit the disks like that are on the spreader and breakup and throw $hit a long way.

Very good. It's hard to tell, but it's either a cultipacker on top of a spreader or an old roller, rake and spreader.

    (I'm a farm boy).

    Nice shots thumb.gif

that is exacly what it is someone put the rake in a spreader wagon but the wood is gone from the spreader and the rake is just sitting on the rails.

edit ps the wheels are missing from the rake.

If you look under the rake you will see a roller. I never saw a roller with a spring rake - that's why I thought it might be some kind of cultipacker, but knows.

I think fish should bring it home and put it in the front garden - fishwife will love it.
