Pentax K1000

Ran into a photographer over the weekend (mattress salesman, actually), and during the conversation he mentioned he was looking for a K1000 (shoots B&W film and does his own developing). I said I'd ask around. So, anyone have a line on one?

KEH.com has a tremendous assortment of K mount, manual focus cameras, including 8 - K1000 bodies.

If he wants something new, the Vivitar V3800N is still being distributed, and is a pretty good, basic, compatible body.

Make sure he gets the metal, made in japan version. Later versions made in hongkong had plastic bodies. The k1000 was made from '76-'97. I think they switched to plastic in the '80s.

I have an early metal bodied one, but I don't want to part with it.

I have a near mint SV, Spotmatic, and Spotmatic SPII as well. All that is fine and well, but of no use to someone who has K-mount lenses.
