Oooooooooooooo ... Just got a new solid black heavy backdrop for my home studio today. Thought I would take a pic of my favorite subject (my daughter). I like this backdrop a lot better than the textured muslins.

Wow... great picture and B&W conversion. What do you use for your conversion??? This is my biggest challenge as most of my portraits are for theatrical headshots and black and white is preferred.

Thanks my friend. I convert them in Photoshop by going to the Channel Mixer and selecting Monochrome. Then I just slide the sliders around until I like it. I love the black and white myself more than anything else.

Sure has been a great Christmas for me this year... started my new business (albeit part time), got a whole studio full of lights from a friend who's dad had left it to her, added on new lenses and studio equipment, and this weekend I bought my new D80!!!! Wooo hooooo

Hope you don't mind me sharing one of my first pics from the new camera.

Congrats. If I had the spare money, I'd have a D80 just for the heck of it. I've heard nothing but good things about it. While the D200 I have is probably more than I "need", I only like the D200 over the D80 because of all the external controls I have access to that the D80 doesn't have. Well...there are some other things I like about it too...but I sure keep seeing lots of great D80 pics out there. Kinda makes me a little jealous sometimes...Laughing.gif

    Have fun!
