Special Slideshow Gallery

AllenAllen Registered Users Posts: 10,013 Major grins
Just had a wild thought and think it might be doable.

Set one gallery up for a slideshow. example:
http://atsmith.smugmug.com/gallery/1760188

What I would like to do is have a link to the special slideshow gallery in my
navbar that uses the current gallery title and images as the container sourse.
Probably involves some js which I no nuthin' about.

Any idea if this could be accomplished?

I'm looking for an alternative to the built in slideshows that uses one
customized gallery for my shows like the one in my message. But when clicking
the link to that SSgallery from any gallery, it uses the "from" gallery as the
container.
Make any sense?

click the links above the slide show... they change the URL being used for the show... atleast I think so based on the code I could find from viewing the source code...
Is this what you were looking for???

I already have that running on my family starting page. See this thread
http://www.dgrin.com/showthread.php?t=49207
I added two menus with a bunch of different shows linked. Works really great.
I'll PM pw and you can see how it works.

Al,

The best I can tell is this is running a SS from a pre-defined gallery. I'm
trying to retrieve the current gallery number and insert it in the SS code for
the source and open new page to display that I can customize. Something
similar to the "full screen slideshow" that opens current gallery.

I would like a link similar to this that I currently use in navbar.
<li><a href="*javascript*: void(0);" onclick="pauseSlideshow();
slideshowUrl = 'http://atsmith.smugmug.com/gallery/xxxxxx';
loadSlideshow();">title</a></li>

Have no idea how js works but need the steps below:
Click button link
js retrieves current gallery number and stores
Go to SS gallery
Loadslideshow (using saved source)

Any this make sence?
