    one word: superb

Stunning shot, love the underexposed back ground and exposed girl. IMo she is a little to far to the left.

Nice. It reminds me of the look I often see posted in the "strobist" group.

Beautiful composition, lighting looks great...the whole shot was done just beautifully. Looks like a cover of magazine.

    Outstanding... thumb.gif

Cough up some techincal details pls... especially concerning the lighting. How much equipment did you drag out to the field? headscratch.gif

excellent job with the lighting and composition. thumb.gif pretty model with a cool pose.

nitpicking: i don't dig the two pieces sticking up next to her, they are distracting. i would prefer dead space next to her.

i checked out the rest of this shoot on your site, very nice work. did you have any trouble dealing with bugs?

Sorry for the delayed response. The lighting-- softbox as key and umbrella as fill powered by a vagabond. I generally shoot at f/8 and I know the shutter was 1/250 to make the sky dark.

Bugs weren't a problem, just scratchy weeds! The MUA/hair stylist went along and both her and me were sneezin' like crazy throughout the shoot. We had to move to a couple of locations to get the sky right too.

Anyway, posted this shot here 'cause I wanted to enter the dgrin photo of the year contest and the rules said it had to be posted on dgrin to enter.

Nice example of balancing ambient and strobed lighting.

Good luck on your entry!thumb.gif - the competition is tough for the big bucks:D
