Just got my D200 and put a Tamron 17-50 f/2.8 on it. Here are basically my first shots, taken yesterday in Joplin, MO. It was really foggy which I thought added to the photo...

(only adjusted light and converted to B&W - with CaptureNX)

I like it! Welcome to the club. I've been kicking around the idea of buying a copy of Capture NX. Still haven't talked myself into it yet. I should though. I played with the demo version and I really like that Control Points feature!

I am really enjoying CaptureNX. I really enjoy Photoshop though and realize it is not only the industry standard but just an overall amazing program. However, I wanted something easier to handle/not as complicated, because I don't work on photos everyday and Photoshop has always been a technical program.

I watched the tutorials on CaptureNX (www.capturenx.com) and was really impressed. The control points, lighting adjustments, everything just seems so much easier to use for photography.

I think Adobe realizes that as well, as we now have Lightroom (for photographers).

Again, Photoshop is hand down AWESOME, but right now for me - for just photography - CaptureNX has been a lot easier to learn and work with.

I know.. i miss this feature as well in NX...

But, sometimes a heavy gaussian blur on a (very) small selected area is good enough.
I can't grasp the notion of time.

When I hear the earth will melt into the sun,
    in two billion years,
    all I can think is:
"Will that be on a Monday?"
