Thanks for all your reply’s. I was about 15 feet or so from this one. Earlier in the day I ran into another guy with a similar rack. And was about half that distance. My next-door neighbor is a hunter and liked this so much I printed a 12X 18 for him. This was taken in Yosemite. The deer will walk right past you. They are not tame, but are used to people. They seem wary of people but aren’t gona let people stop them from going about their deer business.
Is that a white tail deer? The buck I posted in another thread was taken about 50 miles away from Yosemite (up Highway 120) but was a mule deer. Much thinner fur on the one I posted and the rack is narrower. I've seen ten point mule deers bucks near where I took that shot and their racks are nowhere near as wide as the one you shot down the road in Yosemite.
Excellent capture Sam. Kind of miss its feet though.
