I am almost in tears right now as I never would have thought my dad would get me the lens but he did. And I absolutely am in LOVE with it. Matched it up with a brand new 430EX today and I can already tell that it will be my single walkaround lens now. It simply blows my other lenses (18-55 kit, 50mm f/1.8) out of the water in terms of color, sharpness, build quality (WOW!), etc. The full time manual is so nice and the zoom is buttery smooth but not twitchy. Image Stabilization seems great!

Can't wait to get out and really start testing the lens, my parents want me to start selling prints though! All I know is I am one lucky <insert explitive here> kid who loves his parents very, very, very, very much!!!! I have been wanting and drooling over this lens ever since I got my camera and knew it was the single most wanted lens for me... and now I have it! EEEEHHHH!

    ::sobs:: after drooling over the shots you got with it, I went and looked up the price... totally out of my price range x.x

    Lots of congrats on the new lens, sure you're loving it!! Much jealousy over here, heh.

    I definately recommend it! Today I purchased the last accessory (for now), a battery grip, and I cannot put my camera down anymore... I just love using it and taking photos... wings.gif

    I am already drooling at other L lenses... oh boy, I caught the disease! hehe

    I've presently made myself promise not to buy lenses until I pay off the camera body first. I opened a Best Buy credit card just because I wanted to get the 6 months no interest financing on it... I'm hoping by the time I pay the lens off they will have finished debating over the online employee purchase pilot they started a while ago and fully implement it so I can actually use it to buy a lens or two. We do actually sell some decent lenses (with L glass and IS and such) online however just about none of the good lenses are actually available for store pick up... so they need to make it so I can use my employee discount online ^^;;

    Probably won't happen anytime soon, but I can always dream.

    If I get rich, I am totally all over that lens lol

    You're not truly "sick" until you start buying Leica and Zeiss lenses ...

    It's ok, I've caught the L disase and am now an Lcoholic. It's sort of fun though, because when you save up enough money to get another L lens, it's just that much more exciting recieving it!

    Glad you're enjoying your new lens!
