Looking at Ann Mcrae's photos I was inspired to also try and capture "cold" .

Same tree different angle and 45 min later. I got a couple nice shots of this tree last year.

Well I am still working on it. On the whole I am not totally satisfied with these howeverI am not totally dissappointed either.

Well, Tim, this is my take on these:

    This one made me shiver!

This one is very good - I like the sliver of a moon, and am impressed by the variety of color and texture as you move top to bottom on the photo. That is a great tree!

This is just plain foreboding - it clearly captures the cold!

And this last one is great - gorgeous sky!

Well done - I am watching a squirrel outside my office winodw - thinking 'go get your boots, coat and camera and get a pic of him jumping around in the snow' but am also thinking 'the heater is keeping my feet nice and warm....'

I forget what snow looks like some times, thanks for reminding why I moved to San Francisco :D

The tree shots are my favorite of the series. Great colors from top to bottom. It gives me the chills.

Great stuff. I'd say 2 and 4 are my favorites. I like how in the second one the tree seems lost in the mist - it feels silent and a little spooky. In the fourth one I like how the light is exploding up behind the tree. I wonder if you could play with it a bit and make the tree a bit darker compated to the background? Maybe up the contrast some? Just wondering how that would look...
There's a thin line between genius and stupid.

Thanks for the input all:D .
Humungus I will put more (post) work into that shot. You and gregneil have the right idea with the darkening of the tree.
For all you snow fans I hope you will be as enthusiastic in May when I am still posting shots with snow in them .rolleyes1.gif
I hope to borrow Spocklings 75-300 to test out and hopefully capture some birds of prey, also some coyotes which are in full coat right now. Crossing my fingers that the eagles are still hunting that same area. Or even better ...capture a shot of a Snowy Owl this winter.

    Thanks
    Tim
