I was ready early! Imagine that, so I took a drive out to a friends barn and made my rounds, in eastern Canada and not a speck of snow on the ground...first green christmas in a long time. These boys and girls were enjoying the sun. Hope you enjoy them...thought i'd pass them along to their owners as a present from moi.

I would love to hear your opinions on the pictures, I am curious as to what you think of my b&W conversion as well. I have never had any comments neg or positive about it, so i'm really curious!!!:dunno
Thanks for looking!:D

    Diva,
Very nice shot, I like the composition. It's hard to tell at this size how sharp the image is. It may be a tad soft around her eye, which I view to be the focal point of the image. Nice lighting on the face, but I'm not sure what happened around the body/the background. Is this because of an edit you did or is this how it came out of the camera?

    Coy,
Appears to be in foal. :) This one is a cute snapshot and I don't know much about BW conversions, but I think it looks nice. However, the bright WHITE light on the pole on the left side of the image is distracting.

    Harley,
Nice sharpness, maybe just a tad over saturated. Also, the sky has taken on a greenish tint here.

    Lexi,
Cute soon to be yearling, nice lighting and a different angle! :) Remove the little twig from her tail. ;)

    Ryker,
Nice coloring on this guy (QH?). It looks like your AF landed on his muzzle/whiskers though and his eyes are soft.

    Lillie,
Aww, man. I could've really like this one, but her nose got chopped off and there's a tad too much empty frame above her. Also, check the colors here too, the redness on her hindquarters looks to saturated for a bay. I really like this angle though!

    NoName Fellow,
Looks like a sleepy standardbred or some such. This one just seems to be a snapshot to me, but it's cute that his ears say he's alert and his eyes say he's sleeping. :D

    Merry Christmas!

Most of them seem like snapshots. Coy is the best composition, but is dead center. Also the upper half of the pole on the left needs to be burned in since it pulls the eye there, rather thatn teh white on his nose/muzzle (?)

Ryker could be good but the dark body of the other on the right is distrating adn needs to be dodged (the whole background could be more blurred actually).

Keep up the work and sorry about no snow.

Looking back at this picture, it must have lost something in the upload to web cause it's very clear here...not sure, this girl is probably as close to a niece as I'll ever get!!! I was down low on my knees looking up at her, the background wasn't touched in ps, that's how it came out of the camera!

Her owners hopes she's in foal, but hasn't been confirmed to date! So we;ll just pretend that she is!!!rolleyes1.gif it's the image i liked the least to be honest, out of the bunch cause it was very blahh and i didn't like what i was contending with in the background, but her mom absolutly adores pictures, so I felt I should oblige her!

    Harley,

Should i work on making it warmer? How does one rid oneself of a greenish sky?

    Lexi,

Love this gal, she's got attitude in heaps!

    Ryker,
Nice coloring on this guy (QH?). It looks like your AF landed on his muzzle/whiskers though and his eyes are soft.

Diva is a BS Paint, Coy a Morgan, Harley, lexi, lillie, ryker QH's and new guy is a Cleveland Bay! and yes the focus is on Rykers whiskers...darn it but I guess that i don't mind the background addition because his mom knows who that is, and would find a lot of humor in him trying to steal Rykers spotlight, definitly not magazine cover material, but I tried to capture each one of their personalities

    Lillie,
Aww, man. I could've really like this one, but her nose got chopped off and there's a tad too much empty frame above her. Also, check the colors here too, the redness on her hindquarters looks to saturated for a bay. I really like this angle though!

:cry Last shot before I left, I was leaning in through the fence and snapped two before Lexi came back to inspect me and my equipment...one was oof and this is the other..I will work on the colors as well, photoshop is very new to me still, so i appreciate all the feed back and help possible!

He's a 2 year old Cleveland Bay, pushing 17hh already, and I couldn't get him far enough away from the fence to get anything other than a head shot, he's long and tall and gangly, but he's cute for sure! His torment Ryker had gone to check out the hay pile, so he was left alone for a few minutes to rest.

    Merry Christmas!

And to you too, I really appreciate you taking the time to comment, I love what i do, and it's nice to just go and take some shots for me myself and I and then share them, that's exactly what these were!

thank you Jdryan, exactly what these were, i wasn't working just playing with some sunny skies, and some happy horses, it was for fun, and I am enjoying hearing feedback about these! Burning and dodging are amoung a list of things I need to learn about this winter...I appreciate you taking time to comment!!!:D
