My first photo post on Smug Mug!

A beautiful short hike leads to these falls.

This was taken in August 2006, from the other side of the falls from where pakru's shot was done (the bridge, right?) Unfortunately, I couldn't get all that juicy moss in the frame from this angle.

A fair amount of PS tinkering went into this, to balance the dappled sun & "shadows" - as I look at it now, I'd like to lighten it up a bit, except for the hilights.

I took a guess that you get the pic to show up in the post by uploading it as an attechment. :dunno

    Dr Dane,

Gr8 shot. I like the color balance and the long exposure. However, I get the feeling that you may have dodge and burned it...Is that correct?

I did try to get to this side of sol duc... There was a log fall when I went there... :bash

Sorry about your head.:D (see above) Yes, I did various things to help balance the contrast, including using curves in selected areas to lighten or darken. Are you not in favor of such things? I use a bit of this in almost every photo - whatever I can do to make it better, well, within reason anyway.
