This was taken in a friend's pond last July, where it was nice enough to be close to the edge! The stamen remind me a circle of monks.
Canon 100 mm macro - I think it was hand held & braced.

It was above the surface (hadn't occured to me to look at the other possiblilty!) Glow came from a moderate Gaus blur applied on a separate layer to the petals only. (I like it too! )

Thats a pretty shot, not sure that I like the halo glow though ... it is indeed a very pretty flower ...... Skippy
