I posted the wrng PIC --- if you open "Serenity" in the whipping post you will find the intended Photo. Look it up and give me your thoughts on this version. I did crop it a couple of different ways and this has the best feelings of sitting while listening to the moose raap their racks against the trees to clean off the felt covering.

It's easy to jump on someone else's observation. Errors do happen when opperating on a severe lack of sleep. Check out "Serenity" in the Whipping Post for the intended edited version and provide CNSTRUCTIVE hints.
If your intention was humor you failed in a big way. This will only scare away thin skinned people -- I do know two people that refuse to post here because of the lack of construtive critique on the part of a few.
Also, how about showing some of your landscapes. Your bird photos are excellent but when one can afford the extra long telephoto lenses then these shots become much easier to obtain. Granted it takes knowledge of their proper use. Do you shoot on auo or full manual. All my shots are full manual and the original posts are raw un-edited versions. "Serenity" is the result of suggestions from the first posting of Mt. Katadin some time long ago. I do think about and test out suggestions but the final prints must bring back the feelings experienced when I was there or I feel that it is a failure. I would hope that my work brings out similar feeling for anyone that views it.
Please continue to critique -- not with sarcasm but constructive intentions. You fail to meet the intentions of this forum otherwise. Now I will drop this subject and forget your error.
Wow. Sorry, man. I honestly didn't mean to offend. The fact of the matter is whatever the reason, you did post the picture a year ago, and Jerome called you on it. That was a pretty impressive recollection on his part, and my comment was directed at that. I appologize if you were offended. Personally, I would not have been offended if I made the same mistake and had been called on it. However, I'll be the first to admit I have an off-the-wall sense of humor.
I'm glad you like my bird pictures, and you're right -- it does take a modicum of knowledge to use a telephoto correctly, especially when capturing birds in flight. However, I do also photograph landscapes and post them in this forum. Click on the following link to see my thread from last week (manual exposure and focus of course, since you brought it up).

Very nice -- your state is on my list of places to see but Alaska will be first in line
Did you check out the correct photo in the Whipping Posr? I want your honest critique please
I did check it out. It looks like you toned down the saturation and the colors are now more realistic to me. However, I preferred the original crop. It's a very beautiful setting and deserves the wider view. It's a very good shot.
Arizona is great, but I certainly can't find fault with you wanting to see Alaska first. We actually visited Alaska before moving out to Arizona ourselves. In fact, I bought my SLR for that trip. Pics here if you want to see them. BTW, I originally hail from Mass. myself.
Alaska
Vern nice, your photos are much better than my brother's. He bought a Nikon D50 i think. His mistake is not having the camera ong enough to know it fully. NOW YOU MADE ME WANT TO GO EVEN MORE.

....BUT, check color balance and saturation. The image looks oversaturated and too green.

I have a ton of other landscapes in my gallery too. Check out my Utah gallery which I shot in August on our way out to Arizona from NY.

I was not that upset but disappointed. Sarcasm is not apropriat in a forum such as this one. If in a private Email -- then the season is open

I did. You definitely have more than a few that would look good blown up and hangin' on the wall.
