my last day back home was sunny by lock & dam 13 in Fulton, IL. Most of the eagles sat aross the river in trees. one sat on our side ...

& flew some for the people that stopped by.
alot of my flight shots are a bit soft in the face. I think I shot f8..perhaps f10 or so would have been better..??:dunno
here are a few of the better pics.

I actually started whooping out loud when this bird showed up & started flying around.:D I'm glad no one but me was there at the time. I was afraid that I was going to get nothing to take back to WI before this.

    Nice Work!
    A great set of shots!

I noticed one or two a bit OOF in face, as you mentioned, but the others look on to me. Were you using AF? I don't know what a "bigma" is - short for Big Mamma? :D

My longest is a 100mm macro at the moment. :cry If I'm not really careful (which I find hard to do in the thrill of the moment) my AF locks on to something other than the head or eyes - maybe that's what happened on the soft shots?

I admire people who capture good critter action shots, and I would put these in that category.

Great series! The first two look a bit oversharpened (maybe smugmug) but all are winners! You're getting the hang of the Bigma!

I really like the one with the American Flag along the edge. Very nice coincidental combination.

thanks, yes I didn't know it at the time, if I'd have waited a bit longer it would have been in it.

Very impressive...congrats on the new lens...you aren't pumped or anything?..Laughing.gif. Nice shots. Sure is fun when the subject is crisp and clean due to a great lens! Man, making me want a Bigma now....just bought the 400 prime...geez. Nice birding!

They're all awesome shots. My favorite, though, is the last one where the American flag is in the background. I like that there's just a hint of the flag and not the whole thing, nor is it in focus. Good job. clap.gifbowdown.gif

Excellent work. How excitingclap.gif Its tough sometimes not to lock on the near or far wing when a bird is flying. I always try to aim for the base of the neck or even the body if I cant keep the focus reticle on the head.

    These look great.
