hi all!

i'm planning to buy a Canon 400d/XTi and because im on a tight budget i was thinking about buying the sigma 18-200mm F3.5-6.3 DC and a Canon 50mm 1.8 mkII (for low light portraits) with it to give me a broad range. I already did some research and altough the lens isnt the sharpest and fastest it gets some good ratings and i see some nice pics coming out of it. I saw on the Sigma website that an OS (optical stabalising) version (Sigma 18-200 mm F3.5-6.3 DC OS) was due to release..

does anyone know when it release was/is (preferably in europe/netherlands) and how it performs in comparison to the Sigma without OS and to other lenses?

tnx :thumb

    hi redhat!

tnks for the replie! it was a old post and didnt expect it to get a reply after all this time :D
i bought a Canon 400D (with kit) but i think ill keep on saving for the 24-105 F4 L instead of buying something that still costs a lot of money but probably wont come near the quality of the 24-105.

still.. thnks for the heads-up! thumb.gif
