Well, I already "get it" about the light. For a while, we were going steady, then we entered a committed relationship, of course fully consumated.
Culling, well, nothing that shouldn't ever sees the light of day beyond my iView environment! Never. Ever. I are a professional!
Goals:
• keyword finally
• customize way MORE with lotsa help from the helpers
• come up with better lingo for gallery headers to guide my customers through the buying process
•I love proof-delay! It's taken Procrastination out of my quiver of work avoidance techniques
•add to my contacts grouped as a marketing database from my buyer info
•trust in auto color, I've been trying since November, though I do run a calibrated monitor with huey's help and have serious PS skills.
I'm probably just the typical hobbyist who got tired of having friends and parents of other kids on my kids' sports team tell me I should sell some of my photos--So, my resolutions for 2007 were to:
1. Set up a smugmug site. (Done!)
2. Get out and take as many photos at as many events (primarily kids league sports) as possible.
3. Upgrade some lenses.
4. Improve my skills.
5. Do some advertising/word of mouth.
6. Sell a photo or two.
My portfolio is filled with pictures that I have taken for clients. I want to get out and take photos because I see interesting things and enjoy photogrpahy, not because someone is paying me to do it. All I shot in 2006 was portraits. In 2007, I want to get out of the house/studio and do some fine art/landscape stuff.
LHP's goals for '07! (thanks for making me write them out!)
1. finish blurb (portraits) and asuka (weddings) portfolio books
2. Write business plan outlining goal to be full time by '08
3. Execute marketing tactics to gain exposure in my area (via internet, books, direct mail)
4. Keyword galleries, improve my smugmug site in general.
Comments
Mine is to increase my photo sales by 100% which shouldn't be too hard because I sold 0 in 2006.
