Can someone talk to me about Google Searches?

When you type in "crested butte", I want my site to show up as part of that search. Or at lease for CB photographer.

How do I get MY name on a google search? Is there something I can do to make it happen? Things on my site? Pay for it? Whatever?

(Oh, I am doing adwords so that if you seach for certain things, you'll see my ad on the right side of the searches. I have to pay every time someone clicks (which is fine if they are truly interested), but I'd really like to see my info pop up on the main search.)
