a few more Eagles

Well after 2 broken water pipes, a recarpet room and general cleanup, I finally got to some processing. Here are a few more from my brackendale trip last week. All shot with D2x and 500 w/ and w/o Tc 1.4.

The snow was on and off and the eagles took every opportunity to dry their wings and air out.

This guy just wanted to pace the log

I think he stopped to ponder a minute...

When the snow stopped he dryed out again

This eagle was having a little winter snack of Salmon, their main diet this time of year...

One of the few flight shots I took, this juvey is sharing a perch with another.

Lastly a pair on a log.

    Chip,
Really great shots again! And, wow those eagles are intense when they're looking at you. I know you were using the 500, but they seem close, and with those beaks and talons you don't want to make them mad. mwink.gif Thanks for posting!

Most excellent series, Chip. thumb.gifthumb Braving the snow paid off nicely for you, as we get to see the eagles in that element.

    Thanks Skippy,
These raptors are my favorite. I always get a buzz feeling in my gut whenever I get a chance to shoot them. Are there none in Australia?

Thanks Christinia. They were actually very close...even with the 500. I haven't had one come after me yet though, I do try to respect thier space.

Thanks Dbaker and Joel. It helps when its cold and snowing so the snow bounces off you instead of sticking..:D

I'm sorry, I should've placed Skippy's name above that part. Glacier National Park, the 2007 DGrin Shootout.

Very nice! I just moved to Squamish this fall and am looking forward to getting some better eagle shots (got some with my 300mm, but no good close ups).
