I looked for a similar thread but I didn't see one anywhere. Hope it's okay to post here.

Did any of you take some shots of your holiday loot?

I got mostly clothes, but I also got a Tamrac Expedition 5 backpack :):

Pictured below are some of my "goodies" though...
(Hopefully Ivar or Jeroen see this, because they'll understand the goodies)

So, if any of you out there have pictures post them here too.

Ohh! That is nice! I've been watch shopping for about a month, but I'm having trouble finding something I like that I can also justify spending $$ on. :)

(Oh, and great job of getting the second hand on "12")

Yeah, I'm really really good... or not.

It's an automatic chronograph movement, the large second hand performs the chrono function. Look at the small middle dial, that's the current time second hand.

And remember, a good watch will last you a long time. There's quite a few watch junkies amongst my riding buddies, and many of them have good Swiss automatics that are older than me.

I got a Canon EOS 30D; finding my way with it is what led me to this cool site!

    I also got 425 horses...
    ... in the form of a Steel Blue 2007 Chrysler 300C SRT8.
While out enjoying a drive yesterday we passed by this statue of Santa and doubled back for a quick pic before the sun set. Nothing creative, just seemed appropriate.

    Happy new year!

Sweet! I love Oris watches (but don't have one) - Oris = big crown. Great present!

    Nothing!

Except a Blue Bird from one daughter, another collectable for my house, and a membership to the Charleston County Parks from another daughter. Oh, and every year, my son sends a large Santa Claus, no preents with him, just this large Santa Claus.

I took a photo with my dogs this year with last year's gift Santa. Guess next year, I could do the dogs with this year's Santa.

I have asked everyone not to give any more junk for the house.......just electronics, money and/or memberships.

All except Sara must have been confused. (And I have repeated that for two years) Oh, oldest daughter did give me a 25.00 gift certificate to Barnes and Noble. Another membership.

Just couldn't resist answering this question!!!

And I got "sick", and the doctor insisted on "giving" me a flu shot which my insurance does NOT cover. I also got antibiotics and that kind of stuff. Lost my voice anyway!!!

    ginger

(We don't celebrate any other holidays except Thanksgiving which I like much better.)
After all is said and done, it is the sweet tea.

DoctorIt, ahh I did see the motion blur on the middle small dial. And, yeah a nice one will last a long time, but I'm cheap and so far have stuck with Fossil. Oh, but one day....:)

    Shoeless,
Congrats on the camera, finding us mwink.gif, and the beaut of a car! Notice how Santa is checking it out too? Welcome! Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!

    Ginger,

    Christams Goodies
No pictures of my goodies, but pictures WITH 1 of them

I received the Loreo '3D Lens in a cap' . It takes stero pair images on 1 frame (either digital or 35mm) and you can then either use a handheld viewer to see the effect or the 'cross eye' method.

    Website - http://www.loreo.com/pages/products/loreo_3dcap.html

Available for FF and smaller sensors - google for '3d lens in a cap' to find US dealers

Here is a sample of what it can do, taken Christmas day.

    119454343-M.jpg

Just stare at the picture and let your eyes relax, eventually the 2 images will merge and you should see the 3d effect

For those with strong stomachs check out the 3D Wobble versions in my gallery

    http://andym.smugmug.com/3D/266484

You will need to click on the Original size of the animated GIF's to see the effect

I also received a Gary Fong Lightsphere for my 580EX, but no pics with that as yet

Andy, that stero thingy is really cool!

I got my F717 back from Sony for Christmas with a new sensor. They replaced the whole core so back to Dan up at LDP next week to take out the IR cut filter AGAIN.

The freaky thing is, the camera is more light sensitive than before and the pics at all ISO settings are less blotchy...its not the jpeg processing, they are just cleaner...I like that I can now take ISO800 pics and clean them up and make them look real pretty! Its like the internal lens elements were dirty before...

So I guess I should change my signature line to "F717" until next Tuesday afternoon and bring back the "IR modified" part.:D
