What would you do?

I work for a company that was recently aquired. The other day, we had an
'unveiling' of the new sign, a few speaches and some cake--followed by lots
of alcohol (but that's another story with no pictures that I remember ).
As I've done in the past, I take the camera for some candids and fun stuff.
Only this time, a pro shows. He eyes me, I eye him and we both make
pictures. Since he's getting paid and I'm getting paid to have fun, I wait and
let him get each of his shots before I shoot. For some of the close up stuff,
I stayed away--choosing shots with very different angles. Since I know at
least one of the execs in the shot, I think I have a couple of 'better' poses.
I've always found that knowing your subject makes a great big difference
when you're taking posed shots.
Today I was asked for my shots. I've politely declined with the comment that
I haven't processed anything yet. However, my real reason is that the guy
that showed is a professional and he lives by the work he sells. I just do this
for fun.
My question is what would you do?
And OBTW, I spoke to him after the event. Mostly to compare notes about
photography. I secretly covet the flash bracket he used

tell the buyers/payer whomever, that arranged for the pro, that you'll be happy to give over your shots *after* they buy what they want from the pro. you could also ask the arrangements, maybe they only paid him flat for the job and are getting the shots as part of the deal anyhow (no prints) or some such arrangement. if that's the case, then give 'em up now if you like...
good on 'ya!

I think I'll wait. I just hate to see someone that's supposed to get paid get
screwed because there's a freebie elsewhere.
