Looking to subscribe a Magazine

I would like to subscribe in 2007 a photography magazine of international reputation and of high quality standards.

I saw the Luminous Landscape, which looks pretty good but I am looking for an alternative.

I would like something very much in the trend of conceptual artistic photography and not so much about techniques.

Any hints, please ? ...

Thank you. :D

I admire American Photo for a healthy concern with the art of photography, with considerably less room given to the science of it. I see EXIF data and equipment lists online every day - what I see most often in amphoto is beautiful photos. It has cost me a fortune in photography books - the new Avedon collection, an the Arbus Aperture monograph, Seliger's newest, etc - and I don't regret ANY of it.

High recommendations to American Photo :) (Having said this, I also subscribe to Popular Photography, Digital Photo & Imaging, and some others, and they are ALL the same: many technical reviews and photoshop tutorials. I'm not their biggest fan and am waiting for most of the subscriptions to lapse.)

I've been on a similar search. I don't care for the 100-page gear ads and reviews (I can get that online & more thorough and honest at that). So far what I've found that I like is Lenswork and B&W. They focus more on the art of photography but don't go overboard on the "art world" attitude where some others do.

    Antonio:

Nope, I don't subscribe or read Aperture, but based on what you said above, it's a good one. I spend a lot of time at the newsstand looking over photo mags and always see it-- I just don't happen to personally be interested in that kind of fine art/conceptual photography. For me, the mags with the techniques are my favs-- but again, that's not what your question was about.

This was a language misunderstanding of me.
You said: "I second this one based on what you describe." and I understood:
"I agree that Aperture is good for you based on what you describe
    "

A bit off topic, but does anyone know of bookstore chains that regularly carry the British magasine Digital Photographer (Not the US-pressed one, totally different mag, same name) I enjoy its editorial approach to highlighting unorthodox technique, getting more out of the gear you already have (rather than getting you to buy more gear) and the huge amount of content in the magazine. And, like most overseas mags, it is more expensive to subscribe to it than it is to buy it in a store.

thanks in advance, sorry for the off topic.

LensWork is very nice little magazine featuring one or two
photographers per issue. Each article is well written and usually indepth.
Well worth it (at least I think so).

Tyler, I've seen your magazine at Barnes & Noble as well as Borders.
