Perched in the Santa Monica mountains, overlooking the Pacific Ocean and Los Angeles, is the J. Paul Getty Museum of Art. Called simply "The Getty" by Californians, many consider the architecture and grounds superior to the art works contain within. My snaps of The Getty can be found here:

    Great stuff!

The Getty always struck me as better place to make art than it is to go and see it. but then, I like modern art, so they didn't have much there that spoke to me.

Beautiful shots, Gary!!! This museum is worth visiting just to see the buildings, even if you never step foot inside...great place to sit (and photograph!) and watch the world go by. thumb.gif

And I didn't even know it was broke. lol ... Thanks David ... actually I thought about mentioning the 405 ... but I figured only locals would get it ... and sorta loses some of its poetry saying stuck next to a freeway in a large urban center.

Thanks Tyler. Presently tThe Getty has a rather large and equally boring photo exhibit. But I'm with you ... rather take snaps than look at them. I appreciate MOCA more than the Getty Center ... but I did find the Getty Villa very interesting:
