Yes, although I would desaturate the blue a bit. The binding distracts, in part, I think, because of the deep blue. Just my $.02 worth.

I like your take on the theme. I was thinking Marvin Gaye's song would be a good approach to this challenge, as well.

I think a little more focal clarity--especially on the theme line of the song--would help your entry. Good luck.

Every time I looked at this thread, the song would be stuck in my head forever. So I thought why fight it?

thanks for your input...I agree now that you've pointed it out!

If I toned it down, does the blue cast help the image ? Any other ideas that might make this a stronger entry?

I think so, it gives it a nice soulful vibe. As you said, every time I thought of this challenge, that song would start up in my head... good thinking to capture it for the challenge.
