Greetings All,
One of my customers business is Christmas Light Decor. He asked my wife and I to come out and shoot some of his houses that he put the lights on.

I am looking for some feed back on a few of these images. Please give me your thoughts from artistic to technical. I am used to clear precise pictures... but with the lights I did not get what I expected. After shooting these shots, I have come to realize that these types of photos are hard to get the right angle to capture the essence of what your eye sees.

Attached is one of the images. The rest can be found in this gallery. http://actionphotos-k3.smugmug.com/gallery/2313763

It is not a public gallery so you will only be able to get to it through this url. The camera settings will show as well under each picture. But essentailly they were all without a flash, ISO was anywhere from 800 to 1600. Exposer was 1/4 for most... but I did vary on some. Aperture was F10 it it varied a little as well.

Thanks again! My primary focus has been action/sports photography. This is new to me but I need to learn this type of art as well so your comments truley are welcome.

Beautiful...however your signature watermark was a little distracting.

the shots aren't bad (the lighting and houses are great)...a few tips:

ISO 100-200, use a tripod and dont wait until it's totally dark, you'll get much better shots at dusk.

    example:

    not great, but 1000x better:

    Thanks!
I can see what a difference it makes with more light to work with. Right on about the tri-pod. I used a stick (mono-pod?)thinking it would work.
