Hi, all. I've been coming to this forum for a long time, just reading and trying to learn. So I want to introduce myself with a couple of pix, well 1 shot actually, in color and BW conversion.

    Welcome to dgrin! iloveyou.gif

I do not usually comment on flower shots, but yours had something in it that made me stop and think... headscratch.gifthumb.gif
I ended up with a slightly different version of BW, I hope you don't mind.. rolleyes1.gif

    Elena,

    Nice shot.

Do you have Photoshop? If so, please run the color version of this shot through the Pop Tutorial. It makes a HUGE difference, and the shot really sings.

EDIT: I attached the image after following the Pop Tutorial.

Thanks everyone for the warm welcome and taking the time to reply.

Nikolai, I guess I was going for a more "delicate" look, I don't know if I achieved that or it just looks flat. Your version definitely has more "ummphh" or "pop"!

David, wow! What can I say, wow that looks amazing! My original shot looked overly saturated so I turned the sat down a bit in photoshop, but compared to your version it now looks so dull and flat. I will try the tutorial and see if I can come up with something better. Thanks!
