I am not going to admit that I don't have the info that came with it, and my husband swears it has macro. I know we are going to spend hours trying to get it to work, so it would help if I knew ahead of time if it even has macro. It says macro......

I'm not Andy, but I can answer your question. The manual states:
Supported by: Benro C-298 Flexpod tripod, MC96 monopod, Induro PHQ1 head
Also play with: studio strobes, umbrellas, softboxes, ...and a partridge in a pear tree...
guess I can't take you up on the polarizer anymore, eh?

I have the lens right here and almost jumped as I thought I had been missing something. There is no "extra" macro focusing range (like some Sigma lenses have, where you lock it in the longest zoom length and then get an extra range of focus). As a matter of fact, there is no need to switch it to MF, it will autofocus down to the closest point itself (in a fairly well lit place). Probably makes macro work easier to lock it in with w/MF but not necessary.
