I think you did a great job...basketball is a bear to shoot. I could never take a decent basketball shot.

    Mark,
Those look really great - nice job on your first effort in the HS gym.

Its kindof funny...I was looking through your pics and when I saw the last few, I said to myself...that looks like Nikon colorspace...really nice job pulling the brilliance out of the uniforms.

What kind of lights do they use in that gym? Good job picking the color temp for whitebalance.

You're almost my neighbor...I live in Cary.

I think that you did a very nice job. High School gyms by me have terrible lighting. I just shot a High School game this past weekend that had yellow/dim lights. The below picture is what I got.

    I am using a XT, 70-200 canon IS lens, 800iso, f2.8, 430ez flash.

    Keep up the good work.

    Mark,

Good work for a first time at basketball. Did you use noise reduction on these? If so, you might want to tweak your setup a bit - the last 2 shots show quite a bit of noise artifacts on the wall. But more importantly all these shots look like a bit too much reduction was done on the players - there seems to be a big loss in detail - so I'm thinking either it's a result of noise reduction or a result of heavy cropping.

Still good shots for your first time!

John, I ran these through noise ninja all shot ISO 1600
I think they are a little soft due to the fact I was hand holding the 120-300( will try monopod next outing)
