Looking for some input for this picture I took in Washington a few months ago. Sorry for the size. Thanks for the help.

    wave.gif Welcome to Dgrin!

I seem to stop by the Capitol whenever I've got my camera in DC and I'm super happy that every time I go my shots get better. It's not an easy buidling to photograph!

I see you were on the mall when you took this one, near 7th street? That's where I was when I took this one:

The reason, I feel, it's hard to take a shot of the Capitol at night is because of the lights they have on it. The dome is really bright while the rest of the building is pretty dark. This was at a kinda twilight time, so I didn't have as much of a problem with that, however I did manage to underexpose the whole image it a bit.

I think your dome is a touch over exposed. (A problem I had at the White House). As I was walking over to the White House I was able to get this shot down Pennsylvania Ave. It turned out a bit better.

You did a nice job and again welcome to DGrin!

Thanks for the comments, I agree with the lighting and the over exposure. This was my first trip that I used a tripod and really my first trip that I completed a lot of photgraphy on.

DC is such a great place to take some shots. We might stop there this year in the summer as well.

    Thanks again.

First shot is good but it is the second that takes the price. Great framing and composition.
