I'm curious. You're ranked #2 on Google for "westchester senior portrait". Do you think that that really matters to your bottom line all that much?

Yes, I get customers ALL the time from people finding me via Google. Those customers pay me to do jobs. So uhm, yeah, it certainly helps

I don’t know if I really have an agenda. I first found this site from my stats page. I guess that someone mentioned one of my sites here somewhere. I nosed around and found a discussion on Web Design and figured I’d chime in. I find it fascinating. It’s become a little hobby of mine, I guess. I like talking food photography too. Because I’m interested in it, I’ve spent a lot of time learning about it. And I get a kick out of talking about it and sharing some of what I know about the subjects. I like to write articles about this stuff too.
The reason I asked you this question is on other forums, I’ve never run into anyone that was actually successful at SEO. I guess that only so many people can be on the first page of Google… People that aren’t on the first page of Google always fu-fu it’s importance, and I was just curious to know what you thought.
Is anyone else out there on the first page of Google for anything other than your name?

No, that's not it... It had to be before that. One of these sites had to be mentioned somewhere in one of your forums. I looked around and couldn't find it. No big deal...

If you are a SEO expert as your sig states, how do you not know of people coming up on the first page of google for other than their keywords.
It's not as big of a problem as everyone seems to think it is. My main site that I have focused most of my efforts on (and that hasn't been alot seeing as I haven't focused on it at all for well over a year) has always been good and coming up on the first page of google in generic results for keywords.
I guess my main problem is with the proclamation that you are an SEO expert yet seem to think it's so hard to do that people can't easily get on the first page of google.
Sorry don't mean to be rude, or start a fight. Just kinda confused.

No problem...
I think that I mentioned that I am a "self-proclaimed" seo expert. I've done it for myself (with several pages) and one other guy so far. :+) So take me with a grain of salt, if you like. But I do know how to "do it" and a ton of people don't...
My stats page just listed this forum as a source of someone visiting my site.
As far as being easy to get listed on the first page of google, that all depends on the competition for your particular target search phrases. Some phrases are much easier than others. What phrases did you target? I'd like to research your page. Like I said, it's kind of a hobby...

That search term turns up hundreds of sites offering advice and instructions, in most cases free of charge, on how to land on G.pg1

True, True...
Except for the fact that I just published the web page three or four days ago. Give it a few weeks.
Actually, my target search phrases will be "Photography SEO" and "Photographer SEO"
