Typical disclaimer of lousy high school lighting (barely 1600) and as these shots are for the parents and the kids I'm a lot less discriminating then if shooting just for myself.

Now that's an interesting catch shot Gary, you player looks like he is missing a leg and you've caught him in mid flight too .. Skippy

:skippy Everyone has the right to be stupid, but some people just abuse the privilege :dgrin
Hard to avoid motion.
Rod
Thanks Bobcool- The lighting was focused for football. As a soccer pitch is wider there was a stop or two drop-off at the sidelines. Good call on the lens... Canon 70-200 2.8.

If you need to shoot the matches (i.e. your son or daughter is on the team), then I would go with a short-fast lens and then wait for the ation to fill the frame (a 50mm 1.8 is about $80). Allbeit not a very good solution, but at least you'll get something ... it just won't have that long lens isolation/shallow DOF feel to them. A shot with a messy background is better than no shot at all.
You take care and thanks for looking.
