The statcounter changes have been incorporated I believe, so users only have to add the code as they had in the past.

Added the footer code and it's picking up beta site. But when changing
    images in gallery it hangs.
    Any ideas,
    Al

:DAt first I forgot to delete blocking cookie.

Edit: The new image is showing in statcounter but page won't reload.
It's picking up all the page changes.

I've lost the mouse over flyout!!! Oops it back.
Changing image number in address bar and page hangs also.
Clicking on each link in statcounter opens the different images
directly but at the site I can't get ot them.

Does anyone know if Google Analytics will be working fine after the changes?

    Hi Ryan,

the changes should work for GA as well, but I know that Lee had to make a minor modification to his code for GA...not sure if that will effect it from working right now.

Very cool! Thanks to all at Smugmug who listened and acted swiftly to preserve StatCounter functionality. Excellent!

Care to share how it works? Does it detect StatCounter's presence and call it's JS on each new image load?

Allen, take a deep breath. I have no idea what you're talking about. Can you try and reorganize that for me please? :D

I pasted the statcounter footer code from regular site into the beta footer.

Beta page opens ok and I can switch to gallery, homepage and categories.
In gallery navigating to another photo on the page hangs with "Transferring
data from c8.stat ...." shown in bottom left with blank page.

Statcounter is picking this navigation from the beta site of the new photo
    trying navigating to.

In statcounter if I click the link (photo trying to nav to) , green below, it opens up the beta page
with the image I'm trying to navigate to.

    Example from SC
    atsmith.smugmug.com/gallery/952039/4
    atsmith.smugmug.com/gallery/952039
    atsmithbeta.beta.smugmug.net/gallery/76#3647
    No referring link
    atsmithbeta.beta.smugmug.net/gallery/76#2887
    No referring link

Summarizing, with the SC code in footer the page hangs navigating to another photo.

Also just tried selecting next gallery page and it showed but then
quickly disappeared with same hang up and blank page.

    This any better?
    Al

yes, I believe that is the general gist of it...i haven't looked at the code in detail yet.

Here's some more info from the wiki...

Google Analytics is tracking page hits properly, but is dropping everything after the hash (#) in the URL. Contact Google and ask them to fix this bug if you're affected, or switch to StateCounter?. We'll follow-up with Google as well.

what os/browser are you using? Did you make sure to create a new project in statcounter for your beta url? The code they give you is specific to the url that you set up.

That might explain it. Did not set up new project. Will try that.
    Thanks
    Al

Edit: New project created and code implemented.
    Works great now
    Thanks

    "Ridiculously large"...

    But my panel's only 14" diagonal! :-)

Alas, apparently SiteMeter data isn't like gold. Or, maybe, they're just too busy fighting with the annoying vagaries of teh Intarwebs, and once the network fires die down, they'll get back to this.

I do have to agree, also, with the points made by JWW in the posting shortly after mine; he recaps a couple things I said, and makes some other good points as well.

    Sitemeter Help
When you grabbed the code from the SiteMeter site, what parts did you leave out when you pasted it in to SmugMug? When I grab the code and paste it in, my galleries page became identical to my home page and my galleries were no longer visible. I know there is something to leave out, but I don't know what it is. I appreciate any help.

I've been using Sitemeter for about 5 years on my weblog (and like lots of the other cheapskates in this thread, I don't pay them for it at the moment :-), and so when I set up my trial-soon-to-be-pro as-soon-as-I-get-the-8x10-in-the-mail account this week, I put a new Sitemeter counter on the bottom of the page.

And it's working just like I want it to:
