Dug up these pictures I took from the plane as I flew somewhere over Utah or Arizona. The amazing thing (to me at least) is that these were taken with a cheapie Panasonic FX-01 P&S digital camera through a scratched and fuzzy airliner window. Please tell me what you think!

Wow! At first, I thought I was looking at Mars... then I realized, they just must be a very clean and meticulous airline :)

Of course, photographer skill has nothing to do with it headscratch.gif ... just kidding.

    Bravo! Colors are amazing!

Oh my, these are lovely! I'm a big fan of aerial photography, and your photos are just great. Nobody can tell they were taken with a compact camera and through a scratched and dirty window. mwink.gif

They are all great. First and last are my favorites. That does look like Mars at first glance.

I honestly cant believe that these were taken with a P&S. They have so much contrast and detail, and no noise. Was there a lot of PP?

The first two shots were taken at sunrise.

I did have to make several corrections in Photoshop. Mainly contrast enhancement to get rid of atmospheric haze and sharpening due to blur from the airplane window and the camera's antialiasing processing.

I also did noise reduction in Lab mode (a and b channels) with some blending of dark values only.

Wow! Those are really great! The first from Utah/Arizona and the last from Colorado are my favorites. Love the colors on the first and all the lines on the last. Very Impressive!

Shooting from an airplane rocks! When I fly, I more often than not
get a window seat to just stare out at the landscape below. Of course,
it helps when napping too :D

    Very nice shots!
