I'm back after a few illnesses. Doing fine now and ready to hit the road some more.

I am currently in San Antonio, Texas for the Imaging USA 2007 Convention. Not much time on my hands, but I've been able to snap off about 15 photos. If anyone else is in San Antonio for Imaging USA drop me a PM and maybe we can get together.

Comments and suggestions are welcomed.

I stopped and took the shot of this windmill not too far outside of San Antonio between San Antonio and Houston.

I am planning on trying to see all four of the missions in the San Antonio Mission National Historical Park before I leave San Antonio. This one of Mission San Jose was difficult to get because they are digging up the ground to one side of the mission to bury some pipes. There was lousy orange netting to keep people away from the dig site and I had to position myself so plants were hiding the construction area.

Love the first photo. It looks so peaceful and serene.
The second one is not showing. ne_nau.gif

    Thanks, Ana.

The second should be showing. It is showing for me and done the correct way. Hopefully, no one else has a problem pulling it up.

    Thanks for the kind comment.

Your weather should be nicer then. It has been warm here, but nothing but overcast skies since the afternoon I arrived. It started clouding up late in the afternoon Tuesday and I haven't seen the sun since.

I will be passing through San Antonio again the first week in May and plan on shooting the missions again. I will also hit Big Bend NP and Guadalupe NP in western Texas to shoot at both of them as well.

    Dixie,

The images look wonderful. This is probably a good time of the year to go to San Antonio. Summer is pretty awful.

I was born there, and then my folks moved back to Illinois when my father finished with the Air Force.

Scorpions and other crawlies used to get into the old house they rented.

Anyway, there is plenty of history and sometimes it adjoins brand new, which might make for interesting photographic opportunities.

Sorry to hear of the illnesses, but glad to hear you are feeling well now,

    Thanks, Ziggy.

Different day in San Antonio today. We were in the 70s yesterday. Today a cold front moved through and by mid-afternoon we were in the high 40s. According to the forecast it is to be in the low 70s again tomorrow, but I don't believe it. Sunday morning a low of 31 with high of 41, and that I believe going by how cold it is tonight.

I don't know what happened the other day, but now I can see the second photo too. Lovely! I like the inclusion of the plant in the foreground. It adds depth to the picture. thumb.gif

Thank you, Ana, for the comments. The plant in the foreground was intentional, but not for the reason you stated. There was bright orange construction netting on that side of the mission and I used the plant to shield the orange netting from view.

I am glad that it adds to the composition rather than detract since I was afraid initially that it might.
