Moving Photos to Category by Subcatagory

Andy

I am having trouble moving photos from one category to another specific subcategory in another category.

I have several photos which are in various places. I want to move those photos to a Landscapes Category, by State Subcategory.

For example, 2 photos presently inhabit Landscapes, Colorado. The 1st one’s fine. BUT, the 2nd belongs in Landscapes, New Mexico.

What should I do to accomplish that goal in a reasonably easy manner?

TIA

Joe

The only way at the moment is to move one at a time unless you use bulk
move? There you can select a bunch in a gallery and move them together.

    Whole galleries can be moved.

So, does this require another upload to get it in the right gallery?

Naturally, one would then delete the photo in the 'wrong' gallery.

    TIA

    Kinda lost ya.:D
When you move photos they disappear from originating gallery and are added
to "move to" gallery and you can choose any gallery in any category or sub-cat to move to.

    Sorry, Al!

I just uploaded a photo to BistiArt>Other>Participants. I expected it to show up in BistiArt>Participants with subcategory Bisti-01 etc.

I do not know how to get them placed in the right spot {Category and Subcategory} from the get go.
Nor have I seen a help article which clearly illustrates that successful path.

I've got 4 more to go up for this Category/Subcategory, with probably another 30 behind that.

I know you guys are busy and dont need to fix my screwups.

    What should I do now?

    What uploader are you using?
If you're in the destination gallery use drag and drop.

I used the uploader associated with the Participants/Bisti-01 category and subcategory when the create new gallery was created.

    Why?

headscratch.gif After creating a new gallery the load photos box shows and that should
load them in that new gallery. Getting mysterious.

I will take a shot at this... hopefully I'm understanding you correctly.

If you want them to appear in BistiArt>Participants, first you must create a new category named "Participants". Then create a sub-category "Bisti-01" inside the "Participants" category.

In your example above you are uploading into the category named "Other" and the sub-category named "Participants".

    Does this help?

How I created New Gallery and Uploaded 1 photo to WRONG place

    Does this help?

When I set up the gallery with create new gallery, I specified participants for category name and Bisti01 for subcategory.

As I recall, I then was tansferred to a page which asked me to upload photos.
I uploaded the one presently shown in
    BistiArt>Other>Participants.

Where is there a clear, specific definition of how one
    1. uploads to categories
    2. puts pics in specified subcategories
    or
    3. moves from the error above to the desired end?

Thanks for helping to clear this up!
    Joe
