Uber-Red Sunset & Hazy Iowa Field at Morning: 1800's style

Digging around my Flickr photostream (link in sig), I came across these two photos, that I'd like to share at random... and combine into one post.
This first one I edited to make it have a kind of 1800's style to it... misty Iowa fields on a cold January morning.
This next one I took a few months ago during the late summer season of '06. I drove up to a large hill north in the country to capture this. The only thing I changed on it was the shadows (made the silhouettes more black). All else is unchanged, and I kid you not, this sunset was this red:
Comments/critique/whipping even appreciated. I know it's not the board for whipping, but what the hey. I'm up to it

Matt,
Brilliant red on the second one, the only thing that catches my eye straight away is the random leaves in the left top and middle. Maybe crop or clone them out.
