No tripod - so it could use a little more DOF. But still, it turned out ok :)

Columbine loves to hold onto raindrops.

    Thanks Brian.

Ok rather than waste another trhead, I'll put this image in this thread. I found this growing on a log that's in the woodpile. I couldn't resist going back this moring with my tripod to get better DOF. I love the colors on this. Again with the 60mm Micro.

I like the raindrops photo, a tripod would make it a bit sharper but you did well my friend. By the way which lens did you shoot that with?

The colors on the second shot are nice. When i visited the Queen Charlotte Islands of the coast of BC in Canadas rainforest, I saw a mushroom that looked like that but without all the crazy colors. The locals called them chicken of the woods and said they were good eating! I would suggest buying a mushroom id book before tring to eat that thing, or you might be tripping out to Alice in Wonderland!

    Thanks for posting!

WOW, the raindrops image is very well captured kygarden, I really like the way you've presented it! I always try to find this type of image when I'm on a trek. Your second image is interesting' you've done a fine job with this one too.

The raindrop photo is nice, but Ithink I would prefer that bottom right section to be in focus too. It is a 'drop' distracting, but not too bad.

Thanks everyone. The lens is a Nikon 60mm Micro f/2.8 Very sharp lens and pretty cheap to buy used in excellent condition. About $300.

My problem with the tripod is I don't have one that I can lower enough to get this shot without the use of a zoom. The lens was fixed at 60mm so I was stuck shooting handheld...so my DOF was limited by having to handhold the camera for this shot.

Maybe I'll go back out and crack the flash up a little and see if I can get more DOF without blur.

I don't have to go far, just outside my door. I do lots of gardening and this is one of the plants I grow.

Oh and that other thing....I think it's more of a fungus like a lichen? Not sure though.

This first one looks kinda dull now that I've seen the others you posted further down the post :D

The later ones have excellent beading and look more interesting, I'd be pleased with the last few shots as well if they were mine thumb.gif ... Skippy

    Thanks everyone :D.

Oh yeah....much better. Back to normal I'd say. I'm glad it only lasted 2 days. I don't know what it was, but it was rough that first day....then it sort of went away :)
