Looks like the focus just missed the mark on both, as the faces are a bit oof, but they each have an arm that seems sharp. I guess theire heads could have been moving too, causing a little more blur there.
Would it be too much to ask to see the original uncropped versions?
Its a good start Rod. I think a bit of a faster shutter speed should just about do it.
