Got out Saturday morning for a cold walk along the Boise River. It was 7 degrees out when I started. This Downy Woodpecker came out to say hi right away.
I ran across this Kestrel making off with breakfast.
A had a few blown chances for a good Redtail Hawk shot. This one is at least in the frame. . . .
And of course these guys wanted nothing to do with me.
I didn't get any earth shattering images, but had a great time out none-the-less! This wildlife photography is really addicting isn't it? I was always a people and landscape guy, but lately I find myself dreaming of BIG glass, and fancy tripod heads, and the perfect B.I.F. picture. I'm sure you can relate.
Take care,
Richard

What lens were you sporting there?
Cute little fella and beautiful bokeh and blue!
Nice sequence and good job putting the three shots on one image. Two little things though...I would have given him more room in his last shot (where he's highest up) so he's got some flying space. And, I don't know if he was flying up like that, but maybe a panorama type shot of him flying straight would be cool. But, either way, great job at getting three very different, very nice, sequence shots of this guy.
Really nice use of frames and OOB (out of borders) techniques. They really make the shot here!
Looks like you had a nice hike!

How many photographers does it take to change a light bulb? 50. One to change the bulb, and forty-nine to say, "I could have done that better!"

Good thoughts, thanks! I think a panorama style would be cool.
