One ride, many emotions

Hi Y'all,

Here's a sequence from the last day of the professional surfing competition. Each set lasts around 25 minutes and each surfer gets to do a maximum of 15 rides during the set with their highest two scoring rides being used for their score. The top two finishers get to move to the next round. Wave selection is very important and each surfer tries to max out a ride once they start it. Their various ups and downs (physical and emotional) during a ride were fascinating to me. This set was taken during the last mintes of a heat and the surfer knew he needed a high score to stay in the competition. He didn't make it.

How many photographers does it take to change a light bulb? 50. One to change the bulb, and forty-nine to say, "I could have done that better!"

    Poor guy
Love those last 2 shots. Must be nice to see surfers not encased in black full wet suits! You can see so much more body language in the photos you took than the ones I get when they are all suited up, some with hoods too!

Yeah, those last two shots just about sum up his result. Thanks for taking the time to comment.
