Just got back a couple days ago from Bozeman. Sunday we (12 of us) did the Yellowstone snow coach tour as we did last year. The weather was perfect this year, not a cloud in the sky and provided plenty of light mixed with the steam from the thermal features. I wasn't certain where to post these so thought this forum would be best.

On the way from Bozeman (early AM, Big Sky)

Stunning!! All of them are gorgeous! I'm glad for you that you had such great weather for shooting. What wonderful captures by which to remember your trip. My personal favorites are: The Falls, Old Faithful (how convenient the bison posed for you!), Winter Wonderland, The Bobcat. But they are all worthy of framing and displaying!

I checked out all of them....nice. I was there 10 years ago, in the summer. I was just talking to a buddy today about seeing Yellowstone in the winter.

I watched a show on Yellowstone on Discovery HD a few days ago, and it made me want to go back.....and now you post these. Thanks. :D

These are wonderful Dave. You're really getting some good use out of your camera. I have to say that for only having a DSLR for what like 5 months you are making some very impressive images. The Falls and The Light are my favorites and I'm jealous you got to see and capture a bobcat.

Just a beautiful series, we went last year and the weather was bad. What coach company did you use?

Holy Moley Swartzy! These are terrific!!! Gosh, I'm even more pissed that I didn't get to go to Montana State, Bozeman!

Wow, love the clouds/fog/steam/mist...whatever it's called!

That elk is super cute and looks like someone threw a snowball at him. :)

Wow, is that natural!? It looks like little miniature trees.

NICE job with the Bison. You couldn't've directed a better shot than that!

That bobcat shot is pretty sweet too!!

What was your set up for these? (Camera/lens?)

I'm glad you had a good trip, thanks for posting!

Thanks for the kind words everyone
It was a magnificent day for winter shooting. The colder the better. It warmed up to a whopping 4 above that day. The steam accentuated the contrast shots and made a nice hedge at times from the bright sunlight. Thanks for taking the time to comment. One could easily spend a week there filling memory cards!
