I have a strong reaction to this shot. Does anyone else? Would a closer crop increase or decrease the impact? Post processing was done in Capture 4. I try to avoid PS - digital is bad enough for shooting discipline for this noob.

I think it would look good if you closed in on the eye and put the eye in the top third of a vertical picture. The Age Lines are graphic.thumb.gif

My initial reaction was to say crop closer to get the bars out of the shot but that was wrong. The shot does have impact and a lot of that comes from the elephant being behind bars. I would leave as is.

I do have a stong reaction from the shot, excellent work. I do 90% of my processing in Capture 4.4

BTW, Welcome to Dgrin wave.gifcheerleader.gif I'll be looking for more of your shots.

Thanks for the response guys. I also posted a B&W vesion on the Whipping Post and titled it "If I ran the Zoo". http://www.dgrin.com/showthread.php?p=464330#post464330
The title generated as much response a the pic. http://www.dgrin.com/showthread.php?p=464333#post464333

I can't claim the shot has much merit, but it was very important to this noob because it was probably the first time I saw something through my lense that I wouln't have seen otherwise, and knew that it was happening.

I'm so strongly attached to the shot that I can't be objective about it, so I really appreciate the feedback. Thanks!!!

Thanks for the response Harry. If I've still got your attention for a moment can you point me to some discussions on working with Capture? Thanks!!

I don't recall too many here You might try a search in the Finishing School Forum. I will usually go to the Nikon Cafe or Nikonians for Capture info.
