You know I tend to be quite to the point and factual when naming my shots!

But I viewed a thread in the whipping post today that totally made me see things differently.

Bear in mind I would of probably called this shot "Elephant at zoo", Now go take a look at the posting and see what you think.

I think many of us are guilty of this and maybe dont put as much thought into it as we could.

What does anyone think? any other good examples?

I agree the title adds alot to a photo, and that indeed is a fantastic title for that photo, I certainly wouldnt have thought of that. Im about as bad as it gets for coming up with decent tiles. Once in a great while Ill come up with something that I like. I'll have to put more more effort into it. I think a title nameing contest or poll would be interesting.
    Best regards,

Thanks for the feedback and this post. I posted a color version on the Nature and Wildlife forum with a different title (Looking at You).

The name came from the title of a Dr Suess book. Don't know if Suess is known in the UK but I grew up with his books and so are my nieces and nephews.
The shot was taken at the National Zoo in Washington DC. Two elephants were brought inside a indoor area to be examined/fed/ bathed by the vets and keepers. I can't claim the shot has much merit, but it was very important to this noob because it was probably the first time I saw something through my lense that I wouln't have seen otherwise, and knew that it was happening.

I'm so strongly attached to the shot that I can't be objective about it, so I really appreciate the feedback. Thanks!!!

Sure it does, if for nothing else than that reason. It is very cool the first time you experience that.

IMHO the shot stands on its own even without the backstory. I think it's a good image, and the title adds to it--makes you really look & think about it.
