Mill Pond Waterfall

Before people used mill ponds, if there was a drought they just had to wait till it rained again. But later on people started to make and use mill ponds. They would build a wall or dam and the water would stay there. Mill ponds would supply water when it was needed. If they wanted water to flow, they opened the sluice gates. If the mill pond got too full they opened the back sluice gate to let some water out. :thumb
