Whew, been a long exhausting trip off the mainland here. But what better place to shoot than my one of my favorite locations for big surf... North Shore of Oahu in January!
It was epic! This year, we had some great waves and some amazing talent as the Rockstar Games Bodyboard championship was held at the Banzai Pipeline Break over a three day period. Congrats to Jeff Hubbard for winning the title and clinching his first world title in the process!

Wow, these are amazing! They're all great, but the one that catches my eye is #6...love the deep color and the trail across the water. (Sorry...didn't realize you were in the middle of posting while I commented!)

It was definately a great photoshoot, but one of the hardest that I've ever had to meter in my life. The constant partly cloudy days, and the variable water color (alot of whitewater clean-up waves that would blow out highlights) kept me constantly checking the in-camera metering (even using shutter-priority and keeping my f-stops as low as possible at iso125) But all in all, a very fun time!

I love banzai pipeline (and the north shore)! each time I've been there, it's been closer to big surf season, but I've never managed to be there for a big competition.
