I just got mine in from B&H...wow...this thing is an amazing piece of glass.

this is a snapshot of my cat sitting up on a chair by a window. 200mm at ISO 200 f2.8 (VR normal mode) shutter speed? 1/15th of a second.

yummy. i cant wait to see how sharp it gets at faster shutter speeds.

Do you have aby problems getting it to focus on high speed bikes ?? Or do you focus manually ??

This is a great lens. Possibly one of the finest zooms ever made.

Mine just got back from Nikon after a $540 repair!:wow

Had to try it out handheld at my daughter's soccer match two days ago. This lens is a fast focuser and beautiful wide open.

This shot with the 70-200 was selected for the St. Augystine's Alligator Farm's yearly calendar

How many photographers does it take to change a light bulb? 50. One to change the bulb, and forty-nine to say, "I could have done that better!"

It will focus fast but with the speed of the bikes i would like to try a longer 2.8 to help with the panning. With only 200mm you do have to get a little closer to get the shot. The fist time out i had about a 50% keeper rate and hope this inproves with time. mwink.gif

My very, very first shot with this lens and my very first time at 2.8. I didn't even attempt to set this up I just pointed the lens at someone and pressed the button to see if 2.8 and a shutter speed of 1/2000 would work. I iloveyou.gif this lens!

Then, a short trip into DC just before Christmas got me these two night shots.

This was shot RAW and before I had a real RAW editor so EXIF was lost, but if I remember correctly this was on a tripod and shot at 1.5 seconds.

This one I do know as I posted in another forum about the VR. Down Penn. Ave @ 1/13 F 2.8 160mm ISO 200 with VR on, handheld.

Although I have the Canon version, the range is great, and I wouldn't trade it for any other zoom lense in the world.(maybe for a 400 f/2.8 though)

Yeah, that's more or less what I've got... hit & miss when it's fast. I alos hope over time that it'll improve; because once it is well focused, the quality is superior.
