Without a doubt...
My best eagle shot ever.
I have waited for years to get one like this.
Even though I could think of a few things I could do to make a bit better.
I like the way it is from the camera.

How far away were you and what lens did you use? Again, awesome shot!

How many photographers does it take to change a light bulb? 50. One to change the bulb, and forty-nine to say, "I could have done that better!"

I almost named this thread:
I was taking a picture of a fish...
but this darn eagle got in the way.
If only the 2 shots before this one turned out.
An immature eagle dove for the same fish and missed it.
The mature grabbed it a quarter of a second later.
Both shots that I tried at the immature, the camera/lens/me focused
on the shore.
But I at least I got one out three. I'm a happy person today.:D

May I ask where it was taken?
Good Gawd! That is my lens and camera (I actually have the XT). Much better than I have ever done! Excellent once again!

Wow! A friend of mine used to live out that way and I had the opportunity
to visit in the March time frame. I sure wish I'd known about the refuge
then.
Thanks!
Dave --- This shot has a lot going for it: the mottled, low-angle winter light, the composition of the eagle in the frame, the water droplets flying, the background... They all give a great feel for the season, the habitat, and and what's happening. Very nice --- John
Nothing short of excellent Dave! Rewards come to those who persevere....how fun is that?
