Hey everyone,

Well... it's been a lot of hard work but I was able to create my own Nature Stock Photography Library here on Smugmug.

A HUGE MASSIVE OH-MY-GOSH-YOU-GUYS-ARE-FANTASTIC thanks to the gifted people who created Smugmug - the amazing people who answer questions so quickly in the customization forums - and the awesome people who created those great .CSS themes). I honestly believe Smugmug is the best thing to ever happen to photographers. It's made my first year in business as a photographer so much easier. (I'm also found at another Smugmug address here http://photos.christinacraft.com where I post wedding images for clients). I have officially thanked Smugmug in my "About us" section.

My nature galleries now feature more than 1,800 pictures of wildilfe and nature (all keyworded) and I hope to start finally making some money from doing what I love most... nature photography.

You can find the new site here

http://www.naturestocklibrary.com

Any feedback would be welcome. I'm about to start sending out query letters to the world at large (magazines, postcard companies, greeting card companies, etc., etc.,)... so any suggestions would be very helpful.

Thanks a bunch!!
Christina

How many photographers does it take to change a light bulb? 50. One to change the bulb, and forty-nine to say, "I could have done that better!"

Congratulations, that must be very exciting. In the way of constructive criticism, I think you should lose that watermark across the middle of your images. The pictures look clear and sharp. However, they're so obscurred by the garrish watermark that I cannot even tell what the center of interest is in many cases. Take your sea otter shot for example. I cannot even tell if either of his eyes are supposed to be visible in that shot. I can't picture anybody buying that shot based on the way it looks in the gallery. I would simply post them in small or medium sizes, and put a copyright in a corner.

    Good luck!

Great looking site, but I noticed that the share, links, blogs option is turned on. You should kill that so nobody will download your pics.

It certainly does look like you are ready to go. Congratulations and I envy you. I would love to be able to do that. The galleries I looked at had some fantastic photos! I can see why you excelled in photography school. bowdown.gif

The layout looks good to. It is very easy to navigate.

Thanks for all your awesome feedback! I will definitley go back to the drawing board with my watermark - maybe just putting a small one across the bottom. You all had a very good point htere and it was something I was worried about. Thanks for that.

Also, thanks for pointing out a few errors in the keywords. I'll definitely fix those.

I mostly travel across Canada and the US and all of the tropical pics are from Costa Rica. :)

Thanks again. You guys are the best!
