O.K. This is my first post.....been lurking a while... I'm like so many I am an
old film hobby guy and recently bought my first digital SLR... Didn't now which forum to post in so I though... "I'm a people"

Been drooling over so many shots here ..... Been eager to get into Manhattan, and up to connecticut (daughter and grandson) and shoot shoot shoot. and try to learn...but right now this has been my subject and will be for a while.... but I have shots of it in every exposure:D ... white balance:clap and flash combo you can think of...:ivar

    Hi, and welcome. This is a really good site to learn and see some great shots. Can't see your image - try to attach or link it again perhaps.

    Oh Well, my first post looks like my last, did everything I know to do, followed steps... and weird ,,, wonder why it shows up in my preview and the post when I open it?

    You might need to look through the settings and see if you allow linking.
    It could be that you're "logged in" where ever you host the photos and that's
    why you can see the shot.

    Hmmmm... It is at picasa web.. Going to open a SmugMug account, waiting to get a elements 5.0 which is on order then use the convienient link to upload to Smugmug .... but wonder why it is forbidden at picasa web?

    Hey thanks Ian for your patience. as I mentioned the site is Picasaweb..
    I checked for setting there.. very few settings but I enabled all that are there.

    No problem. Finding the right settings can be a challenge. Here's a pointer

    Hmmm this is reallly weird, gotta be something simple, always is.
    But Checked around lot of forums and still no answer as to why I can see the pic be no one else.
    I have posted pics in other forums (not photog forums but pics of instruments etc) same basic process, but now I cannot post..
    However I have never used PicasaWeb.
    But the other wierd thing is I cannot post straight from my hard drive either.

    This applies to using smugmug for posting and is pretty straight
    forward. The concepts may apply though. On the menu bar is a
    "how to" link. On the page that comes up, toward the bottom, is
    a "how to post pictures". Here's another link for you.

    I'll ask around and see if anyone else uses Picasa and see that I
    can find.

    Do you know that you can attach an image? Attachements are subject to
    size restrictions and you should not preview you post if you use them.

    Doh!

    I should have looked at the link in the first place. The problem is there.

    The picture name is P1160573.JPG. Everything after that causes the
    forbidden message to appear. Stripped it off and you're all good.

    Now I see what the six weeks is about :D Heal fast!

    The problem was Picasweb, talked around web to bunch of folks that could not post image from picasweb.
